Black Beauty

Black is beautiful.
Black is proud.
Say it loud.
I'm black and I'm proud.
Then he approaches me and says.
"You sure are cute for a dark skinned chick."
My smile slowly fades.
Trying to figure out when beauty was defined by shades.
My shade of black is a deep chocolate mocha.
Sprinkled with hints of rose in my cheeks when I smile.
Smooth cup of black coffee.
Guaranteed to keep you up, but I am more than a fantasy.
Imagine me, romantically.
Like a Hersheys kiss, I melt in you mouth and your hands.
My lovin' will have you speaking Creole from my native land.
My love overflows and is deep as a well.
Got you wondering what is that Voodoo that I do so well.
Not a witch doctor, but I'll nurse you to health.
Having my love will be the foundation of your wealth.
The fruits of other loins will always vary,
but there's nothing more sweeter than a chocolate strawberry.
They say the blacker the berry the sweeter the juice.
I say the blacker the berry the deeper the truth.
Don't define,my beauty by the shade of my complexion.
My beauty has many layers,
So it makes me more complex and
I'll never apologize for how my creator made me.
I was marinated in his essence, seasoned me with grace
and with sprinkle of sass he sauteed me.
And even with your ignorant comment
you still want to taste me.
Slide tongue between folds of chocolate
ripe pearl, and enjoy the flowing glaze me.
Yet your eyesight is so hazy.
I'm beginning to think you're crazy.
If you think that this young lady
will smile and say thank you.
Like soy sauce on some fries.
You and I know that's the wrong condiment.
Describing my beauty based on my hue.
Is definitely the wrong compliment.
But if I check you on it then I'm the cliche' black chick with an attitude.
So trying to validate myself is pointless since you lack the aptitude in understanding how to approach me.
I am beautiful because I am me.
Beautifully black because I am she.
I am black and beauty is me.
